Scalebound, the Xboxone exclusive colossal action RPG by PlatinumGames, is being pushed back a considerable amount, from an original launch in the winter of 2016 to sometime in 2017.
The impressive trailers and hints towards a 4 player cooperative experience could be the tell tale signs they may have jumped the gun on announcing what seemed like a promising release date for the ambitious project during it’s 2014 E3 world premiere. What solidifies that statement is this press release directly from PlatinumGames website today-
“In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017,” PlatinumGames explained. “This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling game play experiences that we have planned.”
With the legions upon legions of Sony exclusives promising to swarm us within the next upcoming months, it seemed like this title was going to be a great contender (Rise of the Tomb Raider is a timed exclusive releasing for Sony later this year) for Microsoft. I guess there is always next year, right? In all seriousness, do you think this hurts Xbox in 2016?
