I have been a fan of Conan for quite some time now, dating as far back as when he was doing Late Night on NBC. I have always enjoyed his bits in particular, simply because they were a little more out there and took some risks. One particular recurring bit he has been doing is the “Clueless Gamer” segment. The premise is simple: Conan does not play any video games, at all. So he would sit down with a staff member who actually does play games and basically make a fool of himself, and it has paid off. Clueless Gamer is easily one of his more popular segments since his run TBS began in November of 2010, and it has caught the eyes of certain developers. This has led to Conan actually getting some hands on play time with highly anticipated titles, usually a couple of months before its actual release.

The most recent example of this occurred last night when he sat down and played DOOM with Josh Norman and Von Miller (Because he likes to play with Super Bowl athletes). Not only was it fun, but it also showed off new gameplay footage. If you haven’t seen it yourself yet, check it out below:

I expected this game to be violent, but it will never cease to amaze me how people find new ways to animate gore. DOOM already looks like it is going to be amazing, and it feels like it will have a great mix of modern day technology with old school fun. Are you looking forward to playing DOOM when it comes out this May? Let us know.
And if you want to check out more of Conan’s Clueless Gamer, which I highly recommend that you do, check out his YouTube page: Team Coco. If you want any personal recommendations, you should see where he played Mortal Kombat X with Rob Gronkowski and Marshawn Lynch (who was just there so he wouldn’t be fined), or when he “reviewed” Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, or even when he played the rebooted Tomb Raider. Happy Viewing!
