Destiny: Age Of Triumph Announcement

Bungie have announced the next and final event for Destiny 1, which will be revealed in detail next week.

Taking to their forums, Bungie announced that the event will be called “Age of Triumph”, and “intend for it to be a fun and memorable celebration” that will bring the first game to a close. The event will be designed to look back on the times the community has shared together, and to look ahead to the challenges left to complete, with rewards, in the weeks coming.

Following this, they also answered questions that the community had, on the next installment in the Destiny series. The first one they answered was in regards to whether your gear, collected items and other various things would carry over to Destiny 2; the answer to that is no. Bungie said that “Sequels represent the start of a new adventure for every player…this led us to a decision that…Destiny 1 power, possessions, and Ever-verse related items and currency will not carry forward. They will, however, remain accessible to you in Destiny 1.” However, that doesn’t mean it’s a completely fresh start; created characters that have reached level 20 and completed the Black Garden story will be able to be carried over, but ONLY the things related to your character from the beginning. They said “we do plan to preserve your character personalization…Specifically, the class, race, gender, face, hair and marking selections for all characters that have achieved Level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission will carry forward.” They then followed this up with “We also plan to award those veteran accounts with honors that reflect your Destiny 1 accomplishments.” It allows Bungie to start fresh while letting players retain a connection to the first game, which is the best thing for them.

After clearing this up, they announced the dates of three livestreams; the reveal, the weekly rituals that’ll take place during the event, and something called “sandbox update”. The reveal is pegged for March 8th, March 15th for the weekly rituals livestream, and the sandbox update will be discussed March 22nd.

We’ll try and cover each, but if you wish to watch yourselves, be sure to follow them on their forums. Excited for Destiny 2? Discuss it in the comments down below.
